Wait for a dry day. Rain will destroy your mortar, it will dilute the strength out of the cement. Also, if your mortar is too wet it will stain the manufactured stone veneer - and there is no way to get the thin cement color stain off the wall.
Another thing to be wary of is when you are grouting, don't make your mortar too wet. If it is wet, it will run. Bad mistake.
Another common mistake is when you are applying or tooling your mortar. If a small piece of mortar comes loose and falls on the face of the stone veneer siding, don't rub it! Allow it to sit until it dries. When it has set-up, you will be able to flick that piece of mortar right off the wall. If you were to rub that bit of mortar, you will discolor, or stain the stone.
Look at the weather forecast and avoid rainy days when planning your project to add manufactured stone veneer on the exterior of your home. Learn more about installing outdoor stone veneer siding from the Masonry Veneer Manufacturers Association.
